Reporting
The Austrian Government advises that suspected incidents of foreign bribery be reported to either the Central Office of Prosecution for Corruption or the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) (Federal Criminal Investigation Office). Anonymous reporting is not permitted. Verbal and written reports can be accepted in German (official language) and in English, French and Spanish. To call Austria from another country, use the international access code +43. It is also possible to report information regarding suspected incidents of foreign bribery to the Austrian embassy in the country where the bribery is alleged to have occurred. Austrian public officials are required to report suspicions of foreign bribery to the Austrian enforcement authorities.

  • Be aware that whilst all efforts will be made to protect confidentiality in some cases - and in particular where the allegations are based solely on the information of the informer - it may be essential to reveal the source of the information to the court.
