Foreign Bribery is a Crime
Bribery of a foreign public official has been a criminal offence in New Zealand since 3 May 2001. Bribery that occurred prior to this date may also be a criminal offence if any part of the offence took place in New Zealand. Reporting
The New Zealand Government advises suspected incidents of foreign bribery be reported to either the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) or the New Zealand Police (NZP). The SFO is the primary authority. Anonymous reporting is permitted. Verbal and written reports can be accepted in English (official language). Supporting evidence can be translated. Further information on reporting foreign bribery is available from the Ministry of Justice web site. To call New Zealand from another country, use the international access code +64. It is also possible to report information regarding suspected incidents of foreign bribery to the New Zealand embassy in the country where the bribery is alleged to have occurred.
